It was a pleasure to judge at this show. The sun was shining on this first outdoor show of the year. Many thanks to my stewards Rob and Julie.
I found two youngsters with just level mouths, one exhibit had a misaligned lower tooth and two exhibits with light eyes. Front movement is still a problem, what I did find alarming were a number of exhibits with large, thick set heavy ears. Some exhibits were lacking in body condition and muscle tone.

nice size for his age, Presented in good coat, nice length of neck with good ribs and easily spanned. Pleasing expression, good bite with large white teeth. A little unsettled on the move however settled later in the day BPD RBPIS

nice head, however large eyes spoilt his expression. Bite was good with large teeth. Nice size, coat was good and his pelt was pliable. Movement needs to settle.

1st - Thistlemead Fortitude (Mrs P M Heeley)
pleasing masculine head with neat ears and a keen expression. Strong muzzle, nice length of neck, straight front. Ribs were good and I was able to span him. He has good bone with neat feet. Presented in good double coat with a thick pelt. Movement was sound.
2nd - Staynorwood Nightcap (Mr G & Mrs C Richardson)
Pleasing outline with level top line and a carrot shaped tail. Good neck and shoulders, straight front with neat feet. Nice head with little stop, neat ears and dark eyes. He is a nice size, presented in good coat, moved soundly.
3rd - Onziemehurst The Red Baron (Miss A Nettle)

1st - Ravenside Rasputin (Mr M Lowry)
such a masculine head without being coarse. Nice V shaped ears, dark eyes, good stop with a strong muzzle. Lovely length of neck, straight front. He has good bone and neat feet. Ribs were a good shape and was easily spanned . He has correct angulation and was well muscled with his second thigh evident. He has a pleasing outline and on the move he held his top line, finished off with a carrot shaped tail. Presented in a good double coat. Moved soundly in the class, however was a little unsettled in the challenge. RDCC

5th in the previous class. Ok for size, good bone, coat was a good texture, he has good ribs and moved soundly.

3rd in Junior – broad head, dark eyes, a tad heavy in ears, would prefer a shorter fore face which would improve his expression. Nice neck and shoulders, he has a good pelt, coat was a bit short. Moved ok.

4th in Junior – presented in good coat, pleasing head with a good bite, dark eyes, a tad heavy in ears. He has good bone and straight front. Preferred movement of winner.

sporting a lovely otter shaped head, with neat ears, dark eyes and keen expression. He has correct shaped ribs which I could span. He has nice bone, neat feet and a straight front. Coat was a good texture, presented in good condition. Movement was sound.
2nd - Flegato Fidelio At Oatberry (Miss K Tuffin)
masculine head, good bite however a tad heavy in ears. Nice reach of neck, straight front with good bone. Moved ok.

he has a nice outline, good bone and a straight front. Pleasing in head with a dark eye, good bite and a strong muzzle. He has good shaped ribs and a strong loin. Movement was sound

pleasing size, good otter shaped head, neat ears and good bite. Correct bone and ribs, his front was straight. Presented in good, hard condition. Preferred the front movement of 1.

1st - Beaconpike Caelus (Mr S & Mrs K Golding)
Lovely outline both standing and on the move. Pleasing masculine head with neat ears. His expression was keen looking, eyes were dark with a good scissor bite and strong muzzle. He has a good reach of neck with a straight front and correct bone. His ribs are the correct shape and was easily spanned. He is well angulated, loin was strong and has nice racy lines. He was presented in good hard condition with second thigh evident. Coat was pin wire, pelt is pliable. His movement is true both ways and his handler brought out the best of him. DCC and BIS
2nd - Botterox Flint JW (Miss S L Hillman)
He is a nice size presented in a pin wire coat. He has a correct thick pelt and in good condition. His top line was level and is balanced in appearance. Pleasing head, keen expression and correct bite. Front was narrow with good bone. Angulated hindquarters. Rear movement was sound however not the front movement of winner.

He is nice size, I liked his outline, level top line and carrot shaped tail. Pleasing in bone with neat feet. Good masculine head, correct scissor bite and a keen expression. He was presented in good coat and condition. Moved true both ways. Showed well.
2nd - Goxfell Gotcha (Mrs J Stamp & Mr D Joyce)
nice masculine head, strong jaw and good bite. His front was straight and narrow. He has good shaped ribs and I was able to span him. Coat was a good texture with a thick pelt. Moved soundly both ways.
3rd - Hartswelin Veritas With Oatberry (Mrs K Tuffin)

blue and tan – proportioned head with a strong muzzle and good stop. Nice shaped neck, correct bone and neat feet. Moved well around the ring, a good showman.

Another nice dog. He was in good condition with an excellent pin wire coat and a thick pelt. He has nice bone, good ribs and was spannable. His loin was strong and nicely angulated hindquarters. Showed well, rear movement was good.

she is a nice size with a feminine head and a keen expression. She has a good bite, a strong muzzle and dark eyes. Her front was straight, shoulders were angulated and ribs were good. She was in good coat and movement was sound both ways.
2nd - Alcumlow Sip And Swirl (Mr P, Mrs B & Miss R Barber)
blue and tan – on similar lines as the winner, however just a shade longer made. She was in good coat and condition. Moved ok, showed well.

1st - Reedwater Coppice At Dandyhow (Mrs K M Irving)
a smart looking puppy, balanced appearance presented in good coat and condition. Her head is a nice otter shape, with little stop and a short strong muzzle. Bite was good, front was straight and has good bone. She has a nice reach of neck, straight top line and a carrot shaped tail. Pleasing in rib with a strong loin. Movement was good both ways. 2nd - Howthwaite Molly Malone (Mr R J & Mrs E A Barrett)
blue and tan, smaller made all round than winner. Feminine head but a tad heavy ears and lacking muzzle strength but may improve with age . Nice neck and front. She was spannable. Coat was good. She has a lovely outline standing however this was spoilt on the move due to her being too proud of her tail.

nice size with a good quality, feminine head. Her ears were nicely placed, she has a strong muzzle with a good bite. She stands on well padded feet with good bone and a narrow straight front. Her shoulders were well angulated, good ribs and I was able to span her. She has a strong loin and muscled hindquarters. Movement was good both ways. BRC

another good bitch, just not the maturity of the winner. I liked her size and otter shaped head and short muzzle. She has neat V shaped ears and a narrow straight front. Her coat was a good texture and pelt was thick. She moved soundly both ways.

She is good for size and nice bone. She has a proportioned head, good scissor bite and dark eyes. A tad heavy in ears. She has good ribs and was spannable. Carries a level top line both standing and on the move. She was short of coat today. Moved ok.

not the greatest show girl however was pleasantly surprised when I went over her. She has a proportioned otter head, strong muzzle and correct bite. Her neck was a good length with well laid shoulders and correct ribs. Her front was straight and of good bone. Presented in a correct coat and has a thick pelt. She has good angulation and moved soundly.
2nd - Thistlestone Winter's Gold JW (Miss M Whisker)
She is a nice size with a pleasing outline. Her coat was a good texture, she has good bone and neat feet. Front was narrow, ribs were a good shape and I was able to span her. Hindquarters were nicely angulate. Preferred front movement of winner.

blue and tan. I have noticed this bitch at various shows and I was not disappointed with her when I went over her. She has a balanced appearance with an excellent coat. Her head is proportioned with a strong muzzle, well placed V shaped ears and a correct scissor bite. She has racy lines, strong loin and is well angulated in shoulders and hindquarters. Her top line is straight, finished off with well placed carrot shaped tail. She has a pleasing length of neck, narrow front and strong loin. She moves with drive and purpose. BCC
