I would like to thank the Northern Border Terrier Club for their kind invitation to judge at this show, my first breed club appointment. I was well looked after by the committee and their hospitality was wonderful. I would like to thank my 2 ring stewards – Tracy Peacock and Allen Horner – who were very efficient in keeping me right and kept everything running smoothly. It was a great privilege for me to have such an excellent entry and of such good quality to go over. Thank you to all those who gave me this opportunity and for taking my decisions so sportingly.

1st - Windleaves Black Magic Over Alderseadale (Mr D M and Mrs N J Chandler)
Smart blue and tan 7 month old youngster, who was presented in a super harsh jacket. He has a nice expression with keen dark almond eye, his head just needs time to develop. I liked his size and overall body lines. He was of good body length with neat feet. He moved well for one so young and was the best mover in this class.
2nd - Shiftyfox Roll The Dice (Mr G Wildey)
Another nice puppy of similar age to my 1st placed winner. He is a grizzle and tan with the tightest of jackets of excellent texture with plenty of loose pelt. Again his head needs to develop, he has good big teeth and strong bite. He has a straight front, good length of body and good catlike feet and is well muscled for one so young. He just lost out on his front movement.

(BPD) This dark grizzle and tan dog is almost 1 year old, and was shown in a full jacket of harsh texture and has super a pliable pelt. He has a strong head with dark eyes giving him a keen expression. He is narrow throughout with racy bodylines. He is well balanced, with lovely angulations and neat feet. He has a good topline which he carries well on the move. He is a very sound mover coming and going.
2nd - Carrock Canterbury (Ms J Fawcett)
A grizzle and tan dog shown in good tight coat of excellent texture. He has a lovely head with a broad skull and strong muzzle. His body is in good proportion, but up to size. He is in fit hard condition with good catlike feet. He moved well.

1st - Wadesleia Mr Herriot (Mrs H A & Mr A Fletcher)
(RBD) What a smart young man this is. He is a light grizzle and tan just out of puppy and although he stood alone in this class, he really had a real show presence. He was well presented in a super harsh pin wire jacket with a very loose pelt. He has a good broad skull and short muzzle with a good dark almond shape eye and neat ears. He has a good reach of neck that flows into good shoulders and a lovely straight narrow front. He has the best of feet neat and catlike. His body is of moderate length and he is well muscled with racy hind quarters with tail coming straight off the back. He was sound on the move. He really is a lovely balanced border, I liked him a lot and he did not disappoint in the challenge and was given RBD.

He just needs to tighten up his movement in front.
2nd - Iacheslei Adonis (Miss A Harrison)
A light grizzle and tan 71/2 month old puppy reserve in MPD class. He is still very much a baby. His coat was not at its best, just coming in. He has a lovely head with keen dark eyes giving him a good expression. He has nice body lines but he lost out today on his movement.

This 2 year old dark grizzle and tan was shown in a tight pin wire jacket of excellent quality, but not the loose pelt of 1st. This is a light grizzle and tan dog who has a good tight jacket and plenty of loose pelt. His skull is broad and flat with a short strong dark muzzle and strong bite. His dark eyes are set wide on face giving him a typical otter head and neat ears complete the picture. This was the best class of the day. All of the exhibits in the class were of the highest quality and very different types. It was hard to have to make decisions, the places could have changed on another day.
1st - Rus/Slo/Rom CH Stella Rover Akko (Ms M A Privezentseva)
(BD & RBIS) This blue and tan dog caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. He was shown in a harsh double coat with plenty loose pelt. He has a good head with a flat skull and a strong muzzle with a keen expression. He has a lovely straight narrow front and good reach of neck and good length of body . He is a racy dog in a fit hard condition with well set down hocks and has a super top line which carried on the move. He has the tightest of feet and a good tailset straight off the back. He moved well coming and going and with drive. He was very much a showman and deserved his place as Best Dog and Reserve Best In Show.
