Show Type: Championship
Venue: Harewood Hall
Judge: Mrs M Sneddon (Kersfell)
Many thanks to my stewards who were well organized and efficient. We were allocated a large ring, conveniently placed for the wet weather tent, although fortunately we did not need to make use of this facility as the weather was good with only a few spots of rain – a nice change during this rather poor summer.

2nd - Keycharm Phantom by Ridgebow (Mr N Duxbury)
well grown, dark grizzle dog with a very strong head. Front movement was better than rear, quite a heavy dog and I found him difficult to span. Superb coat and thick pelt.

1st - Derwenthow Basil Brightberry (Mrs S E Roberts)
quite a tall, grizzle dog with a lovely skull and expression. Good neck and shoulder, lovely outline to body, narrow and easily spanned, comes up light in the hand. Rather long in tail, good coat, moved well in profile, hind movement could be better.
2nd - Karison Kranberrie (Miss K Johnson)
grizzle dog with a nice head and expression, small ears; he was a little lacking in confidence but moved well. Nice size and easily spanned, another who came up light to the hand. Coat just past its best.

1st - Chorbeck Charlie Chaplin JW (Mrs H Haughton)
light red, 2 year old dog with a strong head, would prefer a little more length to the muzzle and less stop. Carrying a full coat of good texture and with a dense undercoat, thick pelt. He looks heavier than he is and was surprisingly easy to span. Straight front, clean shoulders and nice hind angulation. Moved extremely well both coming and going and in profile.
2nd - Ragatam Newmarket At Badgerholme (Mr & Mrs B Dickinson)
smart, grizzle dog with a good head and expression. Good coat but pelt could be thicker; moved very well.
3rd - Intack Red Admiral (Mrs V Waldron)

1st - Dandyhow Jumping Jack at Glebeheath JW (Mrs J Guvercin)
handy size grizzle dog with a good head and expression. Straight, narrow front, well balanced throughout, good legs and feet; nothing overdone in anyway. Narrow in body, easily spanned; beautifully turned out in a good coat and thick pelt. Moved really well. Pleased to award him his first CC.
2nd - Ravenside Hurricane Run at Ridgebow JW (Mr N & Mrs A Duxbury)
bigger type of dark grizzle dog with a strong head. Very good coat and pelt, good topline, front could be narrower, rear movement ok.

1st - Brumberhill Blue Tempest (Mr S A Mcpherson)
blue and tan with a good head with nice length of skull. Harsh coat and thick pelt, carrying more condition than when I have judged him before and it suits him. Very nice outline; moved well, particularly in profile. RCC
2nd - Northborders Mr Pickles JW (Miss J North)
strong head, good neck and shoulders; narrow throughout, not quite the balance of the winner. Good coat and pelt; hind movement rather erratic.

2nd - Asplands Astrid for Tythrop (Mrs J Lee)
7 months dark grizzle puppy at her first show. Good head and lovely expression, nicely placed neat ears. Has an excellent coat and pelt, beautiful neck and shoulders, really good angulation at both ends, lovely body shape, good legs and feet and finished off with a very good tail. Moved well, very close decision between two very nice prospects.

1st - Brumberhill Bejewelled (Mr S A Mcpherson)
10 months grizzle in a full coat of good texture, thick pelt. Very attractive head and lovely eyes and expression. Nice length of neck flowing into excellent shoulders, lovely topline; looks heavier at first glance than she actually is and underneath the coat she has a lovely body shape, a very well-constructed puppy. An excellent mover from all angles. BP
2nd - Baillieswells Lochindaal (Mrs P Hirn)
very attractive dark grizzle, smaller type and not as mature as the winner. Has a super harsh coat and thick pelt, beautiful neck and shoulders, good in both topline and underline. Has a very attractive head and expression with good ear carriage; moved really well in profile with drive from the hindquarters, still a little loose in front which is not helped by her looking up at her handler. A very happy showgirl and a close decision between the first two.

1st - Chorbeck Little Miss Pickle (Mr J & Mrs Y Robinson)
grizzle bitch with a lovely head and expression, harsh coat and thick pelt. Narrow and spannable, good topline and finished off with a well-shaped, short tail. Moved very well.
2nd - Tythrop Time Flies (Mrs J L Lee)
well-constructed grizzle bitch with a very good coat and pelt, a shade bigger than the winner; head developing nicely, good eye and expression. Nice shape all through, level topline, again finished off with a well-shaped short tail. Moved well but not completely at ease; both the first two in this class had good fronts, an attribute which is sadly lacking in some exhibits.

1st - Merumhor Suzy Snowflake at Lexmar (Mrs A & Mr M Hayes)
blue and tan of excellent colour, harsh topcoat and thick pelt; lovely head and expression, strong muzzle and big teeth. Lovely neck and shoulders, super body shape which was narrow and easily spanned and nicely angulated hindquarters which she used to advantage on the move.
2nd - Irton Enigma (Mr & Mrs D Fryer)
a red in very full coat which appeared to be ready for removal and rather spoiled her outline; very nicely constructed underneath all the coat but would prefer more body condition. Very strong head; moved really well with excellent drive.
3rd - Markrich My Mayur (Mrs J E Smith & Ms P Watts)

1st - Tythrop Touch on Wood (Mrs J L Lee)
classy, light grizzle with a lovely head and expression, strong jaw and big teeth; excellent coat and pelt. She has a lithe, narrow body and is easily spanned, nice length of neck into well laid shoulders and a good topline; good legs and feet. Moved well, especially in profile in this class, just did not quite go as well in the challenge. RCC
2nd - Chesterton Honeymoon (Mr A J & Mrs W Mooney)
smaller type of light grizzle bitch, not as strong in head as the 1st but nice dark eye and expression. Well constructed and balanced, excellent coat and pelt, super outline. Superb movement, a really free striding bitch.
3rd - Rhozzum User Friendly (Mrs M Sharp)

quality light grizzle bitch with a good head and expression, good length of skull. Nice length of neck leading into excellent shoulders, narrow straight front; a well balanced bitch with a lovely outline. She is narrow throughout and easy to span, lovely topline. Excellent harsh coat and good pelt, in superb condition today; she is an excellent mover and really covers the ground well in profile. BCC and BOB, I understand she was shortlisted in the group.
2nd - Stoneygin Dolly Mixture At Pherjan (Mr C & Mrs C A Maltby)
a blue and tan with a very good coat and pelt. Good head and expression, nice neck and shoulders, narrow front, very nice balanced outline. Moved well.
