Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge the show and for your great hospitality. Thanks also to my stewarts on the day, Marina and Jane, who kept everything running smoothly and enabled me to finish judging in good time. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors for their entries.
Coats were at various stages on the day and I found one kinked tail and one mouth with misaligned teeth. I also noticed that a few of the exhibits had small teeth which we do not want to become the norm and should be discouraged.

Strong but spannable 7 month old grizzle and tan. Nice head with strong jaw and correct dentition. Good topline and correct tail set. Double coat of good texture. Straight front and good for bone. Moved well once settled.

Nice size, balanced 10 month old grizzle and tan in fit condition. Moderate in skull, nice ear set and dark eye. Strong muzzle with correct bite. Good reach of neck into level top line and tail set. Thick pelt. Narrow throughout. Straight front and good bone with lovely small feet and thick pads. Nice rib and spanned easily. Moved with good reach and drive from behind. The harshest of jackets which sealed him Best Dog. Best Puppy Dog. Best Puppy In Show and Best Opposite Sex.
2nd - Chorbeck All That Jazz (Mrs H Haughton)
Masculine head with keen expression and strength of muzzle. Nice outline and level topline. Good for bone. In fit condition and moved well with drive from strong rear quarters. Full double coat.
3rd - Earthwise Phantom (Mr E Houston)

Nice sized grizzle and tan. Moderate head with dark eye. Strength to muzzle and correct dentition with big teeth. Good reach of neck, level topline and ribs carried well back. Spanned easily. Moved well with nice straight front. In fit condition and had a good harsh thick coat. Reserve Best Dog.

Heavier masculine dog. Strong head with dark eye. Correct dentition. Well boned. Harder to span. He moved well and had a double coat and thick pelt.

Seven month old grizzle and tan. Head developing nicely. Dark eye, strength to muzzle with correct scissor bite. Level topline, good bone and small feet. Tail slightly on the long side. Ribs carried well back. She had a harsh tight coat.
2nd - Roseghyll Timeless Queen (Mrs A Johnson)
Seven month grizzle and tan. Short in muzzle. Decent coat. Did not cooperate with her handler and wasn’t happy. Preferred the topline and tail set of 1st.

Eleven month old grizzle and tan. Another nice balanced bitch. Lovely feminine head. Dark eye and strength to muzzle with correct scissor bite. Nice length and reach to neck flowing into level topline and well set tail. Easy to span and good pelt. Straight front and small feet. Also moved well.

Ribs carried well back and easily spanned with thick loose pelt. Tight coat coming through. Moved well with good reach and drive. Best Junior.

Blue and tan feminine bitch. Scissor bite. Straight front and good feet. Moderate length of neck, well laid shoulder, level topline and good tail set. Moved with drive from her hindquarters, but preferred front of 1st today. Narrow throughout and easily spanned. Thick pelt and harsh jacket.

Reserve in Puppy Bitch. Blue and tan with pleasant feminine head and dark eye. Short muzzle and correct teeth. Level topline and correct tailset. Coat was harsh and thick. Loose pelt. Preferred the rib of 1st.

Easily spanned with ribs carried well back. Lovely reach to front and drive from rear made her flow round the ring. In good coat and fit condition. A quality bitch that stood away today. A nicely sized bitch who comes to hand so well. She was shown in a lovely heavy double coat so rarely seen today in the show ring. Nice head with strong muzzle and jaw, scissor bite with large white teeth. Well placed small ears. Nicely angulated shoulders with level topline and correct tailset. Strength to loin. Straight narrow front with neat feet and thick pads. Good angulation to rear. She moved well around the ring and was in fit condition. Easily spanned with loose thick pelt. Reserve Best Bitch and Reserve Best In Show.
