Thank you to the club for the invitation to judge at one of my favourite breed club shows and the exhibitors for their entries. Thank you to my stewards Judy Carr and Kath Lothian. Overall, I found fronts to be very varied, ranging from wide to very narrow and resulting movement a reflection of this, most dogs were spannable. I found no issue with temperaments.

G&T shown in good double coat on top of a thick pelt, pretty much up to size already, just requires maturing. Strong, correctly tapering tail. Strong muzzle. BPD.

G&T, lacking coat today but evidence of new harsh topcoat coming through. Good head and topline but a bit too narrow front and back. Very racy hindquarters. Movement was ok.

G&T shown in new coat. a balanced dog with strong otter head, good lay of shoulder leading to a good topline. Would benefit from losing some condition and more attention to grooming. Moved soundly

G&T shown in thick double coat and fit condition, just spannable. Very keen dark expression from a good otter head. Preferred the size and movement of 1st

G&T, new coat just coming through. A strong muzzle. Tight feet with thick pads. A looser lead would have better demonstrated movement.
2nd - Baillieswells Dalmunach (Prof A Milton)
G&T shown in a loose but harsh coat. would prefer tighter pasterns but still a young dog, so time for movement and confirmation to mature.

Lots to like about this masculine, well balanced G&T. Well presented in a new tight jacket on top of a good pelt, coat appeared short due to its very light colour. Strong otter head with keen dark expression. well laid-back shoulders, good front and well angulated rear gave him the reach to move well around the ring. RBD
2nd - Ravenside Run To Me At Sandyfaulds (Mr G Grassie)
G&T shown in good coat but not as tight as first. Preferred the movement and rear angulation of first.

A handsome well balanced G&T shown in tight harsh double coat. typical otter head with game expression. easily spanned, he moved well both fore and aft on well laid shoulders, driving forward on racy hind quarters. BD, RBIS, BoS.

Similar comments to first but preferred the coat and overall balance of first.

A nearly 10-year-old B&T, well presented in harsh double coat. still easily spannable, movement was ok retaining level topline on the move. Typical otter head with dark expression. BVIS

9-year-old G&T shown in tight double coat. just spannable. Movement was sound in both directions. Preferred the size of first.

A petit feminine G&T just turned 6 months. A very keen expression taking everything in. Movement still loose as to be expected in such a young puppy. A decent double coat and pelt. A correctly tapering tail.

7-month-old shown in good double coat and pelt. Movement was good but I would prefer smaller tighter feet

Litter sister to first and positions could be reversed on another day as very similar. Although a tighter coat than first, her movement was not as consistent today.

Good movement fore and aft on tight little feet. Considered for reserve best bitch but would have preferred a slightly more level tail set. BJiS.
