I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to Judge their Open show, and all exhibitors that entered. I had a lovely entry with some quality dogs to go over. All placing’s were accepted with grace. Many thanks to both my stewards who kept the ring moving. The show had a lovely atmosphere and I enjoyed my day

Smart 11 month old grizzle and tan with lots to like. Good head with strong jaw and correct bite, dark eye with a keen expression and small neat ears. Good reach of neck into a laid back shoulder. Good lay of rib which was easily spanned. Level topline which he held well on the move. Presented in good coat and condition he moved well when settled.
2nd - Flegato Fidelio At Oatberry (Miss K Tuffin)
10 month old Blue and Tan presented in good coat and pelt. Nice head with correct bite. Good topline and tail set which he kept on the move. Moved well behind however not as positive in front as first

13 month old Grizzle and Tan with a good head, scissor bite and dark eye. His shoulder flowed into a narrow well laid back rib which was easily spanned. Presented in good coat with a thick pelt. Moved well once he settled into it
2nd - Fevstone Polar Ajax at Saxheath (Mrs A Heathcote)
Blue and Tan who was close up to first. Good head with correct bite and well placed ears. Dark eye with a keen expression. Good straight front standing on small feet. Rib laid back into strong loin.

10 month old Grizzle and tan who I hope doesn’t grow anymore as for me is up to size. He had a lovely otter head with correct bite, correct ear set with neat small ears. Shoulder flowed into a well laid rib and strong loin. Front and rear angles matched meaning he moved with drive holding a level topline. In a full jacket of good texture and thick pelt.

2 year old grizzle and tan who’s size I preferred. Head okay good eye and ear set, longer in muzzle. Coat of good texture and pelt okay. Moved straight when settled

1st - Mysulan Easy Ryder (Mr B Jepson)
6 year old Blue and Tan dog presented in a thick correct jacket, good pelt and in fit condition. He caught my eye when he came into the ring free standing. He has a lovely otter type head with strong muzzle housing a correct bite and big teeth. Dark eye with a keen expression. Neck flowed into well laid back ribs and strong loin. Narrow throughout he was easily spanned. Well place shoulder and good rear angulation meant he moved round the ring with ease. Balance throughout I was pleased to award him Reserve Best Dog
2nd - Dandyhow Postman Pat (Mrs K M Irving)
22 month old grizzle and tan who was also good to go over. Presented in harsh jacket with thick pelt. Typical head with a broad skull correct bite and neat ears. Rib well placed back into a strong loin. Moved well around the ring holding his topline well. Short correct tail. Just preferred the overall balance of first today.

1st - Cedarhill Melt In The Mouth (Mrs C Dean)
Grizzle and tan who is all male without being overdone, balanced throughout he free stands to advantage. Presented in fit hard condition, well-muscled throughout. Put down in fresh harsh coat he could not be overlooked today for his quality, he came into the ring and owned it. Beautiful typical head with strong muzzle, dark eye and varminty expression. Moderate neck which flowed into a well laid shoulder, straight front and neat cat like feet. Ribs well laid back into a strong loin and easily spanned. Good rear angulation which he used to move around the ring with drive holding his topline finished off with a short tail. Please to award him Best Dog and Best In Show.
2nd - Dandyhow Captain Morgan (Mrs K Irving)
6 year old of nice size and type. Typical otter head with good ear set, dark eyes and typical expression. Good neck into well placed shoulder, straight front and neat feet. Rib laid back into loin which was easily spanned. Good moderate rear angulation meant he moved around the ring with drive. Unfortunately not in his best coat today however evidence of it coming was there

8 ½ year old blue and tan who was enjoying his day out. In fit condition he moved well around the ring if a bit bouncy at times. Good in head with dark eye and neat ears. Good shoulder and rib. Level topline which he held well on the move

7 month old grizzle and tan who showed well for one so young. Good head with a keen expression which is maturing nicely for age, bite correct in a strong jaw. Neck flowed into a well laid shoulder and straight front. Ribbed well back with depth and easily spanned. Good in topline and tailset which she held on the move. Good angles front and rear which when she settled she used to her advantage to move with drive
2nd - Morley's Miss Zeva (Miss A Dawson & Miss A Speake)
8 month old grizzle and tan who was good for size and type. She again moved well once settled due to her good rear angulation and muscle tone. Presented in good coat and pelt she was easily spanned.

11 month old Blue and Tan bitch who is moderate, elegant and appealed for her overall balance. Typical otter head with a strong jaw housing big teeth and correct bite. Moderate in neck which flowed into a good lay of shoulder straight front and small tight feet. Ribbed back into a strong loin she was narrow throughout and easily spanned. Held her topline both on the move and when stacked which was finished off with a lovely short carrot like tail. She moved out with purpose around the ring securing Best Bitch, Reserve Best In Show and Best Puppy In Show
2nd - Tojamatt Something Wicked (Mr & Mrs D Matthews)
Nice 10 month old who was slightly overwhelmed when she first entered the ring but settled with time. Presented in good jacket with thick pelt, she had lots to like about her. Nice head with correct bite, keen eye and good ear set. Neck flowed through shoulder into rib and loin. Good angulation and she moved well when settled

Another grizzle and tan who pushed first in the class. Presented in tight harsh coat she moved well around the ring with drive. Good in head with a keen expression. Good front with small tight feet. Good in rib and loin

Grizzle and tan bitch in one of the best jackets of the day, harsh and dense with a thick pelt. Strong yet feminine head which good strength of jaw and correct bite. Neck flowered into lay of shoulder, lay of ribs and strong loin. Good angulation behind with correct muscle tone she moved well around the ring
2nd - Rundlebeck Mill On The Floss (Mr B & Mrs C Manchester)
Grizzle and tan with lots to like, moderate in size she showed well. Pleasing in head with correct bite and keen expression. Good rib and loin with a level topline and good tailset. Coat just coming with a good pelt. She was easily spanned and moved around the ring with drive

Good topline and tail which she held well on the move and standing. Used her rear angulation to advantage and moved around the ring with drive

Another showy bitch who was presented in great condition as per this kennel. Good head and expression with neat ears. Neck flowed into a good lay of shoulder. Ribs well laid back into a strong loin, she held her topline well when stacked and on the move. Good angulation both front and rear meant she moved soundly. Unfortunately left her coat at home today although evidence of correct coat was coming through.

Like her rib to loin which flowed well from her good lay of shoulder. Typical otter head with good strength of jaw correct bite and good expression. Held her topline on the move. Moved around the ring with drive
2nd - Tojamatt Lacemaker (Mr & Mrs D Matthews)
Finer bitch all round compared to first but with lots to like about her. I liked her for her size and balance which was evident on the move and she went round the ring with drive. Good in head with a lovely ear set. Rib flowed into a strong loin and topline was held well both moving and standing. Presented in good double jacket and easily spanned she was well muscled and in fit condition

4 ½ year old bitch of nice size. Good head and expression with correct bite and dark eye. She was put down in fit condition sporting a good double jacket and thick pelt. Liked her lay of rib into loin, she held her topline well both on the move and standing. Good rear angulation she moved around the ring with purpose

Grizzle and tan put down in a full jacket I could sink my fingers into. Liked her head and expression, with correct bite and dark eye. Nice flow from neck into lay of shoulder. Nice rib which was well laid back into a strong loin. Held her topline well on the move and standing finished off with a short tail. On the day just not as positive as 1st on the move

I would perhaps like a bit more fill under the eye but did not detract from her expression. Liked her size and proportions she was well angulated both front and back allowing her to move around the ring well once settled. Narrow throughout she was easily spanned. Presented in lovely coat with thick pelt.

7 year old bitch who said look at me from the moment she stepped into the ring. A moderated, well sized bitch who again was balanced throughout. She has a beautiful head and expression with big teeth and correct bite. She flowed through the neck into shoulder, lay of rib, strong loin finished with a lovely short tail. In a thick harsh double jacket I could sink my fingers into she had a thick pelt and looked a picture powering soundly around the ring. My notes say loved all of her and the pushed hard her today settling for Reserve Best Bitch and Best Veteran In Show. I hope to see her out in the new year.

8 year old bitch who is still in fit condition, present in good coat. Typical otter head with correct bite and neat small ears. Good shoulder with straight front and neat feet. Rib well laid back into good loin. Well angulated rear she moved around the ring soundly
