1st - Lairehope Highland Chief Of Tweedburn (Mrs C Archibald)
Very well made youngster with a classic otter head, hard coat and thick pelt. Correct construction leading to good strong movement. Pushed very hard by 2. Best Puppy Dog.
2nd - Lairehope Duke Diamante (Mr P & Mrs K Lothian)
As already said very similar to 1st – given their father I’m not surprised they are peas in a pod. Very much a splitting of the proverbial hair.
3rd - Brackenfell Raggamuffin (Mr C Hall & Miss L Ellis)
Res - Ravenside Starman (Mr M Lowry)
VHC - Shiftyfox Tried And Tested (Mr G Wildey)

1st - Glenbucket Highland Lad (Mrs N Anderson)
“Old fashioned” Border Terrier displaying a traditional full thick hard coat with correct undercoat. Strong broad otter head with a powerful muzzle but overall not overdone, moderate in everything as he should be. Sound movement.
2nd - Ridgebow Tracker (Mr N & Mrs A Duxbury)
Super head, tight close coat – a good example of a different type of Border Terrier to 1 but showing all the correct attributes.
3rd - Stineval Basil Of Cromlechs ShCM (Miss K Hamilton)

Very typical of this kennel, hard thick coat, correct undercoat, very nicely put together, great strong head, lovely temperament. Covered the ground well on the move.
2nd - Markington Apollo (Mrs M Houseman)
Very similar to 1st in coat, movement, make but I felt weaker in the head, but a nice Border Terrier.
3rd - Stowthorney Mr Tickle JW (Mr R Brewster & Ms J Green)

1st - Lairehope Topaz Design (Mr P & Mrs K Lothian)
Very nice old fashioned type again, displaying everything as it should be. Good strong otter head, thick hard double coat with sound powerful movement. Another enjoyable to go over.
2nd - Flutorum Artful Dodger (Mr E Castel)
My second, whilst a different style of dog had a close, tight coat. Head not as strong as 1 but still good. Well put together and displayed similar good movement.
3rd - Tyneaster Undercover Agent For Vandamere (Mr S Pollit)

1st - Stineval Napoleon JW (Mr & Mrs A G Horner)
Another old fashioned style Border Terrier. Once again showing a thick, hard full double coat. Thick pelt. Very well made. Great head with wonderful expression. Movement was definitely his advantage. Very easy to see this chap doing his true calling in the field. Delighted to award him the Dog CC and Best of Breed. And also very pleased to see him shortlisted in an exceptionally strong Group.
2nd - Raleniro Second Time Around (Mr M J & Mrs D A Lorraine & Miss P Thomas)
This is more like third time around because once again my second is of such similar style to 1st showing a close correct coat, movement and make, but displaying a good, different style of Border Terrier.
3rd - Ridgebow Rifleman JW (Mr N & Mrs A Duxbury)
Res - Breckgreen Soldier Blue (Mrs. J. Green)
VHC - Ravenside Rumours About Caldewgate (Mr A E Burke)

1st - Irton Morse Code JW (Mr & Mrs D Fryer)
Everybody knows this kennel is known for their “old fashioned” Border Terrier which I enjoy immensely. Fabulous head, wonderful intelligent expression, beautifully made, thick hard double full coat with thick loose pelt, as it should be. Nice to see a Border Terrier shown properly. Very happy to award him Reserve Dog CC – very close to the CC.
2nd - Comitis California (Mr T and Mrs L Palmer)
Nice blue and tan, well coated. Once again beautifully put together, good pelt, good construction and movement. Little to choose between this boy and 1st. An unenviable enjoyable decision.
3rd - Raleniro Brand New Age at Alderseadale ShCM (Mr D & Mrs N Chandler)
Res - Remony Merry Gentleman (Mrs. H Allison)
VHC - Grettacs the Wizard ShCM (Mr B & Mrs L P Inness)

This old boy is a dear friend. Classic of his kennel. Not showing his age. Good coat, lively movement.
2nd - StBedehounds Frank in Sense of Raleniro ShCM (Mr M J & Mrs D A Lorraine)
Weaker in head to 1st but in so many ways the same. Hard blue coat. Moved well. Just didn’t quite have the presence of 1st.
3rd - Foxcraig Jester (Mr G R Sugars)

Very nicely put together feminine blue. Strong but delicate in head. Good bite. Moving ok for a youngster.

Unfortunately not up to the standard of 1st. Weaker in all departments.

1st - Chorbeck Gossip Girl At Blackmine (Miss Tracey James & Mrs Michelle Render)
Very pretty bitch but strong where she needs to be. Well made, correctly proportioned which enable her to move with strength and grace. Good correct coat and a feminine otter head. Best Puppy Bitch & Best Puppy in Breed.
2nd - Hartswelin She's The One (Miss L J Coleman)
Another very close class. This young lady was so similar to 1st I found myself splitting hairs. Not quite as mature as the winner to the point she needed a little more development/finishing.

Res - Stineval Malizia (Mr A & Mrs C Horner)

1st - Raleniro Lady Esquire ShCM (Miss P Thomas)
Back to the old fashioned style again, lovely head, rich full tight coat with correct undercoat and pelt. Very nicely put together which led to good movement. Certainly in the mix for Reserve CC.
2nd - Merumhor Suzy Snowflake of Lexmar (Mrs A & Mr M Hayes)
Once again full thick rich correct double coat and pelt, good strong movement, solid head. Well put together but just a little weaker in head than 1st.
3rd - An Cnoc of Baillieswells (Professor A S Milton)
Entries: 12 Absentees: 2
A very close strong class. 1st, 2nd and 3rd gave me that enjoyable but difficult decision of making the choice between three very good Border Terriers. Another day another decision.
1st - Beaconpike In A Storm (Mr S & Mrs K Golding)
A very strong solid yet feminine bitch. Great double coat, very well made which allowed her to move strongly. Possibly this was her winning attribute. Delighted to award her her second Bitch CC. A great example of what the breed should be aspiring to. Once again I could see the first three in a working environment. Bitch CC
2nd - Remony Frosted Ivy JW (Mrs A Gregory)
So so similar to 1st. Closer in coat but the coat was correct. Strong movement, great otter head, good front. As I have said already could see this bitch working. Reserve Bitch CC
3rd - Baillieswells Stronachie (Professor A S Milton)
This bitch deserved her place and could have been higher on another day.
Res - Beaconpike Night Sky At Brackenfell (Mr C Hall & Miss L Ellis)
VHC - Irton Enigma (Mr & Mrs D Fryer)

1st - Breckgreen Blue Christmas (Mrs J Green)
It certainly wouldn’t be a blue Christmas for me with this bitch! So similar to one of my own both in character and style. Not showing her age. Good type and shape. Good solid graceful movement. A character.
2nd - Achnagairn Wild Card (Mrs A Fraser)
There is something about an “aged” Border Terrier. In general they refuse to grow up. This was so much like 1st – a really nice Border Terrier and on another day, another place, could have been standing 1st.
3rd - Carrickfarm Mika ShCM (Mrs V M Armstrong)
