Really pleased to be invited to judge the midland open show, so my thanks to the committee for inviting me and for the hospitality received. Many thanks to Margaret Bailey and Paul Brannan for stewarding and making things run smoothly and keeping me on track. Also my thanks to the competitors for taking my decisions so well and for bringing real quality to the show ring it was hugely appreciated, whether you were first or third there were some close decisions and exceptional quality.

6 Months old grizzle dog, with big teeth correct bite and nice expression, good ear set with harsh tight coat and thick loose pelt, was narrow throughout, excellent topline and tailset and good rear angulation and easily spanned,moved with purpose and drive around the ring
2nd - Brumborder Willow Balm (Dr M A Mccall & Ms L Britton)
9 Month old nice otter head, big teeth correct bite and good ear set, easily spanned with nice rear angulation and narrow front but not settled today a little erratic on the move.

Red dog up to size, with a super head and kind expression, big teeth and correct bite,narrow straight front easily spanned good shoulders and in fit hard condition, moved with drive covering the ground with ease. Best Puppy.

Red dog, Strong big teeth, nice head and ear set, narrow straight front on small tidy feet, flat ribs,good topline and tailset moved with drive both ways, easily spanned,presented in good harsh condition.
2nd - Alcumlow Parsley (Mr P, Mrs B & Miss R Barber)
Red grizzle dog, narrow throughout straight front good feet,with harsh dense coat, excellent topline and tailset, very racy,easily spanned moved well both ways, shorter than one but nicely balanced, just preferred head of 1st.

1st - Cedarhill Once Upon a Time (Mrs C Dean)
Blue and tan dog of handy size and very workmanlike with excellent head and big strong teeth and correct bite, enough bone straight narrow bone with neck that flows into correct shoulders, level topline and thick short carrot tail, well muscled with good rear angulation, moved well with drive which made a lovely outline both stood and on the move. Best Dog.
2nd - Breckgreen Soldier Blue (Mrs. J. Green)
Blue and tan dog in harsh coat, moved well both ways, narrow throughout with straight front and good condition with nice rear angulation,easily spanned presented in good hard condition preferred head of winner.
3rd - Shaamit Guarantee (Mrs J O'Shea)

1st - Otterwood Caius JW ShCM (Mr M J & Mrs J M Hollingsbee)
Blue and tan dog with harsh thick wiry jacket and loose pelt, lovely otter head with neat ears correctly placed, flowing neck into level topline and good tailset with nice rear angulation with nice narrow front and neat feet, moved with drive and purpose.
2nd - Gameway Mcvitie JW (Mrs P Clark)
Shorter than winner, good harsh tweedy jacket and thick loose pelt easily spanned, enough bone, nice head and correct bite, just preferred length of winner although very showman like.

Red dog,nice head and expression with big teeth and correct bite, straight narrow front, with harsh coat and loose pelt, good topline and tailset, moved with drive from well angulated rear.

Blue and Tan dog that was a tad heavy, very strong head, big strong teeth and correct bite, short on coat but what he had was harsh and wiry.

Red grizzle baby at 6 months but what a coat, it was harsh and dense with good undercoat. Feminine head, big teeth, good bite and narrow throughout, a bit of a fidget today but on the move she went round the ring with drive,nice reach of neck good shoulder placement easily spanned.
2nd - Brumborder's Birthday Girl (Mrs P Clark & Mrs I M Southam)
Correct bite and big teeth with good expression, handy size with nice outline and handy size, easily spanned with good topline and tailset lost out on coat.

1st - Picer Flora Mcivor (Mr G & Mrs S Pickering)
Red grizzle bitch nearly 10 months old with very feminine head would like more of it, and a bit more expression. Straight narrow front, tidy small feet, good reach of neck she was easily spanned with a good jacket, good topline and tailset and, nice rear angulation moved well. Needs to grow on.
2nd - Otterwood Domina Candesco (Mr M J & Mrs J M Hollingsbee)
Lovely red grizzle bitch with a cracking head and expression and well placed ears. Narrow straight front who was easily spanned with good topline and tailset, lacking coat today, a nice bitch that didn’t settle on the move at all today which cost her the class.

Blue and Tan bitch very alert and narrow throughout, with a feminine head and nice shoulders that would get her anywhere good topline and tailset, good coat she moved with drive and didn’t miss a trick always on the lookout, she may have tired in the final line up and lost her sparkle a little.
2nd - Hemlockstone Diana at Bowencloud (Mrs S J Ruth)
Another Blue and Tan bitch a bit stronger than the winner but not overdone in any way. Very workmanlike, good for bone but not overdone she has a good head and expression, a harsh coat and thick loose pelt, she was easily spanned and moved well both ways.

Red grizzle bitch with a cracking head and real expression, with good teeth and correct bite, the narrowest of fronts and nice reach of neck into good shoulders excellent topline and tailset she was easily spanned with harsh good jacket very typical of this Kennel. She was in good hard condition, a little unsettled but once on the move she went well.

Another Blue and Tan bitch with lovely outline with good head and expression, correctly placed ears, good bite and teeth. Harsh coat and thick pelt she was easily spanned and moved well with nice rear angulation and narrow with straight front, just lost out on the day to alertness of winner.

Blue and Tan bitch another excellent head and expression with good big strong teeth and correct bite, narrow throughout could get anywhere with thick loose pelt and harsh coat good topline and tailset, unsettled on the move at times.

Feminine head good bodylines and excellent coat, big teeth and correct bite, nice neck and shoulders level topline and tailset, very well presented, moved well both ways, just preferred head of winner.

Red bitch shown in full coat just past its best. Lovely head and good expression with big teeth and correct bite with short strong muzzle. Spannable with level topline and tailset and thick loose pelt. Moved well both way, hoped for more in the line up but didn’t look as narrow as winners in comparison.
2nd - Glebeheath Maiden Name At Oakyard (Mr J Parry)
Red bitch whose coat was a bit patchy today, a pretty little bitch with a good head and expression, with good bodylines she moved well both ways with correct bite and big teeth she is a handy size, a lot to like about her shame her coat wasn’t quite there today.
3rd - Grindelvald Over The Moon at Hemlockstone (Mr R H & Miss J A Bryan & Pounder)

Red bitch who was narrow throughout with excellent coat flowing into good shoulders and level topline and tailset. Easily spanned with a feminine head good teeth and correct bite. Bit unsettled on the move today.
2nd - Byrewick Princess Kate (Mrs. L. Foulger)
Blue and Tan bitch with feminine head and harsh coat, good topline and tailset, good bite and easily spanned, moved better in this class than the previous class.

Wasn’t expecting a Veteran class like this, but my it was very much appreciated, thanks to the exhibitors for bringing them and for excepting my decisions so sportingly. A class full of quality.
1st - CH Southash Blue Betty Boo Gameway JW (Mrs P Clark)
Just in Veteran and just had pups I think14 weeks ago, in excellent condition. Probably the best coat and pelt you’ll find, this bitch is a credit to the breed. Lovely head and expression with big teeth and correct bite, from her head to her toes she just flows from the elegant neck into beautiful shoulders and rib, excellent topline and tailset she just looks a picture. She is a lovely size and beautiful in profile her underline is perfection and something to be noted, she moved with drive both ways. A credit to the breed the breeder and owner.
2nd - CH Cedarhill Authorized JW ShCM (Mrs C Dean)
Red grizzle dog with lovely head and expression typical of this kennel with good ear placement, and with big strong teeth and correct bite, nice shoulders and level topline and tailset, he is in very good condition hard and fit and is a credit to his owner breeder. He moved well both ways and is not showing his age.
