It was an honour to be invited to judge such a prestigious show as “The Northern Border Terrier Club Open Show “ I would like to humbly thank the committee for their invitation and their warm welcome on the day.
I would also like to thank my stewards on the day Allen Horner, Anne Maltby and Dave Mitchell, who kept the ring running smoothly for me.
Finally would like to thank the exhibitors for giving me the pleasure of going over their dogs and accepting my decisions in a sporting manner.

1st - Picer Fellemburg (Mr G & Mrs S Pickering)
8 months old. Top size, red grizzle dog. Shown in dense full coat. Strong muzzle, large teeth. Well off for bone. Straight front, narrow throughout with good length of rib. Excellent top line and tail set. Good forehand shoulder placement and well angulated rear. Moved soundly from all angles. BPD
2nd - Ridgebow Tracker (Mr N & Mrs A Duxbury)
7months old grizzle dog. Smaller dog than 1. Lovely otter head with a keen expression. Again, like 1 shown in good coat. Well placed shoulders with good front angulatIon. Nice low set hocks allowing excellent drive from the rear, easily spanned. Just preferred overall narrowness of 1.

9 months old blue and tan dog. Nice size. Typical head and expression. In nice new tight coat. Thick lose pelt. Good for bone. Moves well in profile, still needs to settle in front.
2nd - Stineval Pontiac (Mr C Dixon)
Grizzle and tan dog. Litter brother to 1. Similar remarks apply. Handy size. Not the thickness of pelt as 1. Needs to settle more for his handler.

Grizzle and tan dog with excellent top line and tail set. Shown in good harsh coat. Excellent shoulder placement, giving good reach in forehand. Well angulated rear allowing free flowing movement viewed from profile, coming and going. Well proportioned head with little stop and correct ear placement.
2nd - Irton Mountain Dew (Mr D & Mrs A Fryer)
Grizzle and tan dog. Excelled in head, with keen expression, good strength of muzzle with large teeth. Just coming into new tight coat. Not the narrowness of 1 and not so settled on the move.

Grizzle and tan dog. Handy size. Shown in dense, harsh coat. Straight narrow front easily spanned, although a shade upright in shoulder. Would like a little more fill under the eye. Good mouth. Ears well placed, tail set ok. Well angulated rear giving sound enough movement.
2nd - Houndshope Rest Dodd at Thorneyburn (Mrs M Wanless)
Grizzle and tan dog. Very typey head of correct proportions. Good coat with excellent thick pelt. Sound enough in the move, but carrying a little bit too much weight today and difficult to span.

Grizzle and tan dog. Nice size, shown in good harsh coat. Excellent top line and short carrot tail being set well on. Excellent shoulder placement giving good reach in front. Well angulated rear allowing drive of low set hocks. Keen dark eye, short strong muzzle. Excellent on the move. Considered strongly in the challenge.
2nd - Howthwaite Grainsgill (Mr R J & Mrs E A Barrett)
Grizzle and tan dog. More on the leg than 1. Lovely shoulder placement. Another dog moving true and soundly from all angles. Excellent top line and tail set. Strong muzzle with big teeth. Just preferred the overall size of 1
