Blue and tan bitch. She has a feminine head with soft dark eyes and correctly placed ears. Narrow front with correct bone. Easy to span with ribs carried well back with a well set tail. Good angulation. Good double coat with ticking, thick pliable pelt.
Class Critique
Super line up of puppies. All with their own merits to shine.
The Northern Border Terrier Club Open Show
23rd Mar 2025
Judge: Mr Mark Atkinson (Raedwulf)
Thank you so much to the committee for inviting me to judge at my home club. I had a good selection of quality dogs to choose from, and a couple I’d happily have in my own kennel. Thank you to my stewards Julie and Nicky for keeping my ring running smoothly and to the exhibitors for allowing me to assess their dogs, taking my decisions in a sporting manner.

Enjoying her day. Nice outline with good jacket. Ok in head with correct bite. Easy to span, good rib and tail set. Movement not as positive as one.
The Border Terrier Club Championship Show

Judge: Janice Johnson (Ratcheugh)
My thanks to the Border Terrier Club for this appointment it was indeed an honour and privilege to judge this prestigious show in Border Country. To my stewards Judy and Pam for their efficiency and all the exhibitors who entered, thank you for giving me this opportunity to go over your dogs and accepting my judgement on the day. I had the most enjoyable day going over some excellent examples of our breed. My feelings are we have a good future in some of our younger exhibits but, watch out for size and movement. For all exhibitors, we must remember the border terrier is a working breed and should be able to follow hounds, sound movement is essential. I love a good coat and thick pelt and today I had both in abundance, all mouths were correct and all, but a couple were spannable.
Minor Puppy - Bitch / Very Highly Commended

The East Anglia Border Terrier Club Championship Show
12th Apr 2025
Judge: Miss Jean Singh (Vandamere)
It was a pleasure to judge at this show. The sun was shining on this first outdoor show of the year. Many thanks to my stewards Rob and Julie. I found two youngsters with just level mouths, one exhibit had a misaligned lower tooth and two exhibits with light eyes. Front movement is still a problem, what I did find alarming were a number of exhibits with large, thick set heavy ears. Some exhibits were lacking in body condition and muscle tone.

The Southern Border Terrier Club Open Show
30th Nov 2025
Judge: Mrs M Fleming (Flegato)
A big thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge my breed at their lovely Christmas show. It was my first time judging at a breed club show and it couldn’t have gone any better - the welcome was amazing, my stewards were fantastic and the atmosphere felt so harmonious and friendly. A true club show atmosphere. I am also immensely grateful to the exhibitors who entered and let me go over their lovely dogs. Thank you all so very much, I had an amazing day. Temperaments were good and all dogs were spannable. Coats were in different stages which is OK. A number of exhibits would benefit from a little less condition.

The Southern Border Terrier Club Open Show

Judge: Mr Kevin Yeates (Bluebabel)
My thanks to the committee for giving me this opportunity. I had a lovely day going over some lovely dogs. Mouths were very good with only one level bite. A couple of weak front pasterns, and a few carrying too much condition. They are after all ‘essentially a working terrier’
