Open and Working Shows

I would very much like to thank the officers and committee for offering me this appointment at this lovely agricultural show, and for their hospitality. Thanks also to the efficient and helpful ring steward and most of all to all the exhibitors for allowing me the privilege of going over their dogs. It was a very windy day, which bothered some dogs on the table. Temperaments on the day were excellent, coats were very varied and all male dogs were entire.

1st - Billyboy Blue At Chevinor (Mrs H A Metcalfe)

12 month old lively blue and tan dog with good coat and pelt. Nice eye, good dentition. Nice bodylines and good length of rib and easily spannable. Tail slightly low set. Moved well in profile, but didn’t drive well from the rear when going away. Excellent temperament.

2nd - Nottorg Nostalgia JW ShCM (Mrs A Taylor)

17 month old grizzle and tan bitch, good head and earset, nice eye and good mouth. Slightly heavier in shoulder than 1 but well angulated. A little deep in brisket but spannable. Coat and pelt were very good over the body, but hair was lacking over both thighs. Moved well but was not in as good a condition as 1 today.

1st - Totherend Blue Jean Genie (Mr R G & Mrs E A Wright)

2 year old blue and tan bitch. Lovely ottery head, with keen expression, good earset and dentition, with strong muzzle. Nice front with straight legs onto small neat feet. Thick coat and pelt . Good rear angulation and tailset. Moved slightly erratically due to the windy conditions I think, but with enough drive to take 1st place today.

2nd - Cedarhill Correspondence (Mrs C Dean)

2 year old grizzle bitch. Smaller frame than 1 but nicely balanced overall. Attractive head with short strong muzzle. Good length of neck onto well laid on shoulders with straight front to good neat feet. Easily spanned with good length of rib and well angulated rear. Coat and pelt in very good order beautifully groomed as are all from this kennel. Handled very well in windy conditions, she moved easily round the ring. Just preferred overall balance of 1 today.`

1st - Cedarhill Authorisation (Mrs J Alpe)

Eye-catching 2 year old dog, Best otter head today with great varminty expression. Nice length of neck onto well –laid on shoulders. Good front with neat feet. Good harsh coat and thick pelt covering nice length of rib. Spannable. Good rear angulation with well muscled hindquarters. Moved with enthusiasm and drive, which won him this class and BOB today.

2nd - Dandyhow Friendly Fire at Chevinor ShCM (Mrs H A Metcalfe)

Super 4 year old grizzle dog, with a really good head and expression. Strong muzzle with good sized teeth. Coat was just going over but he had the thickest pelt of the day. Good angulation at both ends, strong topline and tailset. Really nice bodylines. Just lacked the drive and enthusiasm of 1 when moving around the ring,
