Show Placings

Northern Counties Sporting Terrier Association Group Open Show
7th Oct 2017
Judge: Dogs, MR. S. GRIFFITHS (DRIGOTHE) Bitches, MISS A. DIXON (OTTERPAWS)
Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at this lovely show. A warm welcome and great catering. Thank you to my steward Barry Merchant for keeping everything running smoothly. Thank you most to those who entered and to the exhibitors who kindly allowed me to go over their dogs and accepted my decisions. All entries had correct bites. Many of the entries struggled to move as well as they might have done due to the hall floor. Judge: Andrea Dixon (Otterpaws) From the dogs on show I was able to identify different types and endeavoured to apply my knowledge of the breed to finding the characteristics in the different types which I would be happy to have passed on to future generations, so the better the points of the breed, the higher the placing. Judge Steve Griffiths (DRIGOTHE)

Northern Counties Sporting Terrier Association Open Show
24th Mar 2019
Judge: Mrs P Cox (Cushatlaw) & Dr M Armstrong (Ploughdown)
Judge: Dr Margaret Armstrong (Ploughdown), Bitches, Thank you to the committee of the Northern Counties Sporting Terrier Association for inviting me to judge at their group open show. I’d also like to thank my stewards for their sterling work in keeping things flowing. There was a lovely atmosphere at the show and the officers and exhibitors were very welcoming. I had a great entry of Border Terrier bitches and my placings were greeted with gracious courtesy. It was a bracing, sunny day and it was good for the Border Terriers to be judged outside, which largely seemed to suit all.

Placing Critique
Strong grizzle and tan bitch. Otter head with short strong muzzle and moderately broad skull. Scissor bite. Neat ears. Pleasing expression with dark, correctly shaped eye. Well set shoulders and front. Well off for bone and neat feet. Good length of rib and easily spanned. Moved soundly both coming and going, showing drive when moving around the ring.
