First Place in Limit - Bitch, Judge: Miss Sally Leslie (Risdene)
Thank you for a super entry. At times I felt I had been let loose in a sweetie shop such was the quality of the exhibits before me. Indeed because I was spoilt I was hard on jaw and dentition faults and Borders that were more smart terrier than true Border in type. My experience over the years leads me to believe that such faults are heart-breakingly likely to continue to bite in the future if not stamped on. My main winners were true Borders. You read of “a-ha moments†and happily for me there were some rather nice ones here. Good times indeed.
CC My word what a class, a hot short list headed by this special exhibit for whom the standard could have been written, lovely b/t of high quality, harsh and strong topcoat with excellent undercoat, ideal head properties and such a true Border expression, keen but not hard she looked at me just right, beautiful neck and well laid shoulder, good strong well made quarters, so good in body lines generally she did not let me down on the move but had the free sound stride of a good one. Sympathetically and modestly handled she was more than worthy of this hard won CC. In the final challenge just bowed to the fresher animation of the dog.
