Second Place in Open, Judge: Siân McKay (Redesholt)
Many thanks to the committee of Bridgend and District Kennel Association for the invitation to judge Border Terriers at their well run and friendly show. My thanks also extend to the cheerful and efficient Stewards, and exhibitors, who appeared to take my decisions with good grace. All exhibits were sound in temperament and with no kinked tails or unacceptable bites.
5-year-old grizzle and tan bitch, with a superb feminine otter head and the shallowest of stops. Expressive eyes, well set on ears and a good reach of neck into correct shoulder placement. Of a longer cast than 1, good length of rib and racy hindquarters with a well-turned stifle. Coat unfortunately not at its best today but had a good thick loose pelt. Although carrying a bit of extra condition today, this did not hinder her movement as she moved with a fluid effortless action showing both good reach and drive. A very close call between 1 and 2 today.
