Second Place in Post Graduate, Judge: Siân McKay (Redesholt)
Many thanks to the committee of Bridgend and District Kennel Association for the invitation to judge Border Terriers at their well run and friendly show. My thanks also extend to the cheerful and efficient Stewards, and exhibitors, who appeared to take my decisions with good grace. All exhibits were sound in temperament and with no kinked tails or unacceptable bites.
18-month-old bitch excellently presented in a harsh dense coat and superb pelt. Great otter-like head with a whisper of a stop. Excellent dark eye and expression; strong jaw and big teeth with a correct scissor bite. Nice shoulder placement, well ribbed back and good turn of stifle. She was rather reticent on the move today, and this reflected in her not being quite as secure with her topline and her not fulfilling her potential and showing off her reach and drive.
