The Yorkshire, Cheshire & Lancashire Border Terrier Club Open Show (24-01-2026)

Second Place in Special Beginners - Dog or Bitch, Judge: Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)

Show Critique:

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this friendly and well-organised show. To all the exhibitors, it was a true honour to assess your wonderful dogs, with many decisions being closely contested. I thoroughly enjoyed my day—thank you. I would also like to thank my hard-working stewards, Julie & Ian, for keeping the day running smoothly.

Placing Critique:

Grizzle bitch, approaching two years of age, was not showing herself to full advantage today. Nevertheless, there is much to admire: she has good bone, pleasing substance, and retains her femininity while remaining easy to span. Her head is typical, with good skull width, strength in the short foreface, and dark, expressive eyes. She has a good length of neck, though she was just losing her topline today. Her ribcage is well carried back. I liked her racy hindquarters, which have a good width of thigh. She moved true both fore and aft, though lacked the drive of the winner.
