The Yorkshire, Cheshire & Lancashire Border Terrier Club Open Show (24-01-2026)

Second Place in Veteran - Bitch, Judge: Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)

Show Critique:

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this friendly and well-organised show. To all the exhibitors, it was a true honour to assess your wonderful dogs, with many decisions being closely contested. I thoroughly enjoyed my day—thank you. I would also like to thank my hard-working stewards, Julie & Ian, for keeping the day running smoothly.

Placing Critique:

This nearly ten-year-old grizzle bitch looked in fine fettle and showed well for her handler. Liked her type and size; very feminine throughout. She has a classic otter head with good width to the backskull, small, well-placed ears, and dark eyes that give an alert yet gentle expression. Her body displays the desired narrowness, making her easy to span. Today, she tended to lose her topline on the move and didn’t quite show the drive of the winner, but I preferred her coat texture.
