The Yorkshire, Cheshire & Lancashire Border Terrier Club Open Show (24-01-2026)

Second Place in Junior - Bitch, Judge: Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)

Show Critique:

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this friendly and well-organised show. To all the exhibitors, it was a true honour to assess your wonderful dogs, with many decisions being closely contested. I thoroughly enjoyed my day—thank you. I would also like to thank my hard-working stewards, Julie & Ian, for keeping the day running smoothly.

Placing Critique:

Close up to the winner, this very smart and shapely 17-month-old grizzle bitch displays good balance and proportions. She possesses an otter head with a dark, expressive eye, strength in the foreface, and a correct scissor bite. Her neck is well-proportioned, flowing smoothly into a firmly held topline. She stands on a clean, straight front with tight feet, and her ribcage presents a pleasing shape and depth, spanning easily and carried well back. Her movement is true, although her tail carriage was a little higher at times. Her pelt is thick, with a jacket harsh, and well presented.
