First Place in Open - Dog, Judge: Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)
I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this friendly and well-organised show. To all the exhibitors, it was a true honour to assess your wonderful dogs, with many decisions being closely contested. I thoroughly enjoyed my day—thank you. I would also like to thank my hard-working stewards, Julie & Ian, for keeping the day running smoothly.
This top-quality, workmanlike 2-year-old B&T dog presents a shapely yet functional outline, with each part flowing seamlessly into the next and nothing overdone. Loved his overall size and masculinity. He has an appealing head with good width to the backskull, a short, strong muzzle, a correct scissor bite, and large teeth. His dark eyes convey a keen yet gentle expression. A clean, well-proportioned neck leads smoothly into a firm, well-held topline. He displays the desired narrowness throughout, making him easy to span, with ribs carried well back. His moderate hindquarters show good width of thigh, which he uses effectively to drive around the ring, demonstrating reach in front and maintaining his outline. Presentation is first-class, with a thick pelt and harsh jacket. Delighted to award him BD, going all the way to take the top spot – BIS
