Guildford & District Canine Society Open Show (30-11-2025)

First Place in Post Graduate, Judge: Rhianne Mitchell

Show Critique:

I want to thank the society for inviting me to judge Border Terriers for the first time. I was absolutely thrilled with my entry, and I had some lovely exhibits to go over and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was pleased to see all had good bites, all had good temperaments and most were in good coat. A few, particularly the males, were verging on too big for me. Also, I feel I should urge exhibitors not to run with their dogs, it makes the movement harder to assess and can cause the dogs not to stride out properly. Thank you all for entering under me and thank you to my brilliant stewards Helen and Kev for keeping the ring running efficiently and smoothly.

Placing Critique:

3 year old blue and tan B. I really liked this girl, she stood out in this class for me. Good size and good outline. Lovely otter shaped head with a pretty, keen expression. She had the best coat of the day with good undercoat and was spannable. Stood solid on straight legs and compact feet, with correct angulation. Moved parallel with a good stride and driven from the rear, challenged hard for BOB.
