Guildford & District Canine Society Open Show (30-11-2025)

Second Place in Junior, Judge: Rhianne Mitchell

Show Critique:

I want to thank the society for inviting me to judge Border Terriers for the first time. I was absolutely thrilled with my entry, and I had some lovely exhibits to go over and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was pleased to see all had good bites, all had good temperaments and most were in good coat. A few, particularly the males, were verging on too big for me. Also, I feel I should urge exhibitors not to run with their dogs, it makes the movement harder to assess and can cause the dogs not to stride out properly. Thank you all for entering under me and thank you to my brilliant stewards Helen and Kev for keeping the ring running efficiently and smoothly.

Placing Critique:

A pretty young grizzle and tan B of 8 months. She is very eye-catching on the move, with her tail set on well and wagging and head held high. Stood firmly on straight legs and compact feet, and well schooled. She has a good bite and is easily spannable. I loved her angulation both front and rear. Beautiful parallel movement. I would have preferred her with a tad more coat, but she had good undercoat and was presented well
