First Place in Junior, Judge: Rhianne Mitchell
I want to thank the society for inviting me to judge Border Terriers for the first time. I was absolutely thrilled with my entry, and I had some lovely exhibits to go over and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was pleased to see all had good bites, all had good temperaments and most were in good coat. A few, particularly the males, were verging on too big for me. Also, I feel I should urge exhibitors not to run with their dogs, it makes the movement harder to assess and can cause the dogs not to stride out properly. Thank you all for entering under me and thank you to my brilliant stewards Helen and Kev for keeping the ring running efficiently and smoothly.
Another lovely young grizzle and tan D who has just hit 6 months. Up to size, but he is nicely mature for his age, and presented in tip top condition. Such an intelligent expression on him. Good bite and spannable. He was stood on neat feet and straight legs with good bone and beautiful rear angulation. He did give away his age on the move, but I have no doubt this will improve as he grows up.
