Guildford & District Canine Society Open Show (30-11-2025)

First Place in Puppy, Judge: Rhianne Mitchell

Show Critique:

I want to thank the society for inviting me to judge Border Terriers for the first time. I was absolutely thrilled with my entry, and I had some lovely exhibits to go over and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was pleased to see all had good bites, all had good temperaments and most were in good coat. A few, particularly the males, were verging on too big for me. Also, I feel I should urge exhibitors not to run with their dogs, it makes the movement harder to assess and can cause the dogs not to stride out properly. Thank you all for entering under me and thank you to my brilliant stewards Helen and Kev for keeping the ring running efficiently and smoothly.

Class Critique:

What a class! Some beautiful exhibits present, and the first 3 could easily swap places on another day

Placing Critique:

Best Puppy What a beautiful blue and tan B, at just 8 months old she is an ideal size and holds a beautiful outline. A lovely head with dark eyes and a beautiful expression, stood on straight legs with compact and sturdy feet. Her hind legs are racy and beautifully angulated, with a lovely tail set, and she was presented in good, muscly condition with a crisp coat. Her movement is parallel with rear drive. A very flashy young lady, which ultimately pushed her to the top spot. Pleased to award her BPIB, and later she was awarded Terrier Puppy Group 1, congratulations!
