The Southern Border Terrier Club Open Show (30-11-2025)

First Place in Limit - Dog, Judge: Mrs M Fleming (Flegato)

Show Critique:

A big thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge my breed at their lovely Christmas show. It was my first time judging at a breed club show and it couldn’t have gone any better – the welcome was amazing, my stewards were fantastic and the atmosphere felt so harmonious and friendly. A true club show atmosphere. I am also immensely grateful to the exhibitors who entered and let me go over their lovely dogs. Thank you all so very much, I had an amazing day.
Temperaments were good and all dogs were spannable. Coats were in different stages which is OK. A number of exhibits would benefit from a little less condition.

Placing Critique:

G & T dog of just under 2 years old and a litter brother to my YD winner. He has the most pleasing, well proportioned otter head with flat skull, powerful jaw and lovely eye and expression. Correct bite. Good reach of neck into clean shoulders. Excellent shape and length of rib – narrow throughout, lightframed and very easy to span. Straight front, good legs and feet. Not a lot of coat today but enough to see and feel the harsh texture; presented a lovely outline and moved effortlessly and true, with a good length of stride and firm topline. A very nice border, not overdone in any way. Stood alone in his class but a worthy winner, pulled all stops out in the challenge and was my Best Dog and Best In Show!
