First Place in Open - Bitch, Judge: Miss Angie Nettle (Onziemehurst)

Show Critique:

I would like to thank the officers and committee for asking me to judge the show, also making me feel so welcomed. My biggest thanks go to all the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to go over their dogs and for the sporting manner in which my decisions were accepted.
However, there was a harsh lesson learnt by me this day. Do not trust/rely on the stewards to be always be right. Believe in myself when someone appears to be more experienced at stewarding but has called the wrong dog into the ring. Stand firm.
Having come into Borders through hunting and horses; I like a dog in fit hard condition that can keep up with the horse and hounds over hill and field. Essentially a working terrier.

Placing Critique:

3 year old Grizzle and Tan Bitch. Feminine otter shaped head with kind dark set eyes. Short strong muzzle with correct scissor bite. Ears set correctly on the skull. Neck coming down into laid back shoulders. Straight front legs, narrow along the body. Coming into narrow ribs and a strong loin. Good angulation on the rear legs with a carrot tail set well. Dense harsh jacket paired off with a thick pelt
