First Place in Open - Dog, Judge: Miss Angie Nettle (Onziemehurst)
I would like to thank the officers and committee for asking me to judge the show, also making me feel so welcomed. My biggest thanks go to all the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to go over their dogs and for the sporting manner in which my decisions were accepted.
However, there was a harsh lesson learnt by me this day. Do not trust/rely on the stewards to be always be right. Believe in myself when someone appears to be more experienced at stewarding but has called the wrong dog into the ring. Stand firm.
Having come into Borders through hunting and horses; I like a dog in fit hard condition that can keep up with the horse and hounds over hill and field. Essentially a working terrier.
4 year old Grizzle and Tan Dog. Dark kind eye set in an otter moderate shaped head. Good length of stop with correct bite. Good bone setting off the overall look of this dog with a thick jacket and pelt. Spanned easily with good rib and strong loin. Moved well
