First Place in Junior - Dog, Judge: Miss Angie Nettle (Onziemehurst)
I would like to thank the officers and committee for asking me to judge the show, also making me feel so welcomed. My biggest thanks go to all the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to go over their dogs and for the sporting manner in which my decisions were accepted.
However, there was a harsh lesson learnt by me this day. Do not trust/rely on the stewards to be always be right. Believe in myself when someone appears to be more experienced at stewarding but has called the wrong dog into the ring. Stand firm.
Having come into Borders through hunting and horses; I like a dog in fit hard condition that can keep up with the horse and hounds over hill and field. Essentially a working terrier.
11month Dark Grizzle dog. Up to size. Large teeth set in a strong muzzle and correct bite. Narrow body with straight front legs. Lay of shoulder into a tight rib and strong loin. Showing a strong second thigh with tight padded feet. Tail set well. Thick jacket, with good under coat and pelt
