First Place in Puppy - Dog, Judge: Mrs Anne Higham (Comberdown)
Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge the show and for your great hospitality. Thanks also to my stewarts on the day, Marina and Jane, who kept everything running smoothly and enabled me to finish judging in good time. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors for their entries.
Coats were at various stages on the day and I found one kinked tail and one mouth with misaligned teeth. I also noticed that a few of the exhibits had small teeth which we do not want to become the norm and should be discouraged.
Nice size, balanced 10 month old grizzle and tan in fit condition. Moderate in skull, nice ear set and dark eye. Strong muzzle with correct bite. Good reach of neck into level top line and tail set. Thick pelt. Narrow throughout. Straight front and good bone with lovely small feet and thick pads. Nice rib and spanned easily. Moved with good reach and drive from behind. The harshest of jackets which sealed him Best Dog. Best Puppy Dog. Best Puppy In Show and Best Opposite Sex.
