Second Place in Open, Judge: Sarah Pateman (Lessien)

Show Critique:

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the committee for inviting me to judge the Border Terriers at their show. Although the journey the preceding day was lengthy, it proved to be truly worthwhile. I was privileged to assess an outstanding entry of high-quality dogs and bitches, and I am grateful to all the exhibitors for affording me this opportunity. While the size of the ring presented some logistical challenges, the Border Terrier community adapted admirably and ensured the event ran smoothly. The committee demonstrated excellent attentiveness throughout, as did the two stewards who supported me during the show. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this event.

Placing Critique:

(Grizzle and Tan Dog) RBOB
It was a pleasure to see this dog again in the ring. He presents with a strong otter head, complemented by a flat skull and a shallow stop, all of which contribute to his confident yet correct demeanour. The lay of shoulder is accurate, flowing seamlessly into a good topline and a well-set tail of correct length. His angulation is also well-formed, enabling him to cover the ground with both purpose and balance at all times.
One of his standout features is his tight, harsh jacket, which is consistently impressive and never disappoints upon examination. Though he was narrowly edged out of first place today, he was nonetheless deserving of Reserve Best of Breed (RBOB), and I was happy to award him this honour.
