First Place in Limit - Dog, Judge: Mrs Margaret Sneddon (Kersfell)
I would like to thank the Committee for offering me this appointment, I was honoured to be given this opportunity. Thank you also to my stewards for all their hard work keeping the show running as smoothly as possible, for which I was very grateful. There were some lovely dogs present but front movement and lack of correct length and angulation of the upper arm continues to be a problem in some exhibits as well as size and correct coat . We should not forget the first line in the breed standard “essentially a working terrier”.
grizzle of lovely size and type with a very good otter head with a flat skull of nice length, shallow stop, strong jaw, sporting big teeth dark experessive eyes and well set, v shaped ears. Good length of neck flowing into clean, narrow shoulders, narrow straight front with quality bone and very good small, tight, well padded feet. Lovely narrow body, easily spanned, with good length to ribs giving correct underline. Level topline, retained on the move; finished with a well set and carried short tail of good shape. Presented in a deep, double coat with correct texture and with a thick, loose pelt. Moved out freely with reach in front and excellent drive from the rear. Another capable of following a horse and also of correct size to go to ground. Never stopped showing, pleased to award him his first DCC and also BIS.
