Second Place in Post Graduate, Judge: Siân McKay (Redesholt)
My thanks go to the Committee of the Wigan and District Canine Society for the opportunity to judge today (we were kept well fed and watered!), and to my steward for her assistance in the ring. The show was very well attended and was therefore very busy and noisy. The Border ring was right next to an open door which unfortunately did appear to have a detrimental effect on a few exhibits, leading to some inconsistent and unsettled presentations. That aside, there were some lovely dogs to go over – no major faults to note, and all had very pleasing loose pelts. Coats, as to be expected, were in various stages of growth.
Much to like about this balanced 2-year-old grizzle and tan bitch with an excellent otter head with all that entails; including a kind alert gaze, and strong muzzle with big teeth. She is of a handy size with good shoulder placement flowing from a good reach of neck, though well back ribs to a rear assembly with good turn of stifle. Shown today in an excellent thick dense coat with loose pelt. Moved ok, not as positive as 1 today.
