Wigan and District Canine Society Open Show (14-01-2024)

Second Place in Puppy, Judge: Siân McKay (Redesholt)

Show Critique:

My thanks go to the Committee of the Wigan and District Canine Society for the opportunity to judge today (we were kept well fed and watered!), and to my steward for her assistance in the ring. The show was very well attended and was therefore very busy and noisy. The Border ring was right next to an open door which unfortunately did appear to have a detrimental effect on a few exhibits, leading to some inconsistent and unsettled presentations. That aside, there were some lovely dogs to go over – no major faults to note, and all had very pleasing loose pelts. Coats, as to be expected, were in various stages of growth.

Placing Critique:

8-month-old grizzle and tan bitch. Dark eyes, gentle expression, good set on of ears. Another with correct shoulder placement with good length of rib, being well back, and nice set on of tail. Correct ratios throughout. Shown in a harsh coat with good pelt. Movement today not as assured as 1.
