First Place in Puppy - Bitch, Judge: Mrs Sue Baxter (Mysulan/Sulan)
My sincere thanks to the committee for their kind invitation to judge Borders
and the warm hospitality on offer at this show .
To my stewards on the day, Lauren and Phil , a big thank you for keeping
the ring running smoothly and ensuring the exhibitors enjoyed their
experience.
Sadly ,once again it was obvious that the numbers present on the day
were greatly affected by the fact there were three open shows, all with
breed specialists judging, on the same day . Nonetheless , I thank all the
exhibitors who honored me with an entry.
To those exhibitors present on the day , thanks for allowing me the
privilege of going over your dogs and accepting my decisions in a sporting
manner .
Generally , the dogs coming forward today were well presented and
conditioned , one or two may have benefitted from a little more detailed
grooming to enhance certain points of their conformation but on the whole I
enjoyed my time handling a fine bunch of Borders
A very pretty grizzle puppy . A real baby who is full of the joys of Spring . Lovely
feminine headpiece with little stop and nice skull width. Muzzle well filled for
one so young , expression so full of interest . Mouth a little tender due to
teething but what I saw looked correct and well placed .Front and rear
angles were good , ribbed well back , loin ok… growing at a pace and
therefore perhaps a little bum high, at the moment. Movement was a bit
difficult to evaluate as she made her handler work very hard trying to
maintain a straight line , with time and experience that will improve Im sure!
Deserving of BPiB and given serious consideration for higher honors in
the challenge
