First Place in Puppy, Judge: Mr Peter Armstrong (Atron)
My sincere thanks go to the exhibitors for firstly entering their dogs under me and then for showing them in such adverse weather conditions. Not only had they the extreme heat to contend with but also the small steeply inclined ring still full of sheep droppings as well. Proper Border country !.
Nearly 12 month old Grizzle dog. Super youngster who excels in both type and quality who caught my eye immediately upon entering the ring, and kept it !. Excellent head of good proportions, moderately broad skull, with a keen expression with a good dark eye. Well set on small ears. Good reach of neck flowing into well placed shoulders, Straight front and narrow body of good length. Easily spanned. Good angulation both front and rear. Harsh tight coat and a pliable pelt. Well-muscled throughout. Well set on tail carried correctly. Moved well with drive holding a level topline around the ring. Superbly presented. Pleased to award him BEST PUPPY IN BREED and he subsequently went on to win TPG1 under the Group Judge Mr. Michael Hollingsbee. I was later informed it was his birthday the next day. What a marvelous way to finish off his career in puppy !.
