The Northern Border Terrier Club Open Show (09-04-2022)

First Place in Limit - Bitch, Judge: Mr. Tim Ball (Kaitak)

Show Critique:

A thoroughly enjoyable day and my thanks go to the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge their well-run Open Show. I was delighted with the excellent entry and what a pleasure it was to spend a day with the Borders and their owners. There were some well-filled classes which gave me lots to think about and some decisions were extremely close. A lovely atmosphere prevailed and applause for the winners was consistent throughout.

Placing Critique:

Another lovely class with a number of quality bitches although quite varied in type. I selected this 2 yr old as my winner and I thought her something really special and she was a delight to go over. The ultimate showgirl, she presented a beautiful outline with muscular neck of moderate length, firm straight back, first class ribbing, strong loin and tail of correct set and carriage. Feminine head and expression with moderate breadth of skull, lovely dark eye, ears of correct set, strong muzzle and correct scissor bite. Faultless construction with good angles front and rear, straight forelegs with correct width to chest, standing on the best of feet and well-muscled throughout. Moving true on the down and back and with good length of stride on the go around. Best Bitch & Reserve Best in Show. Very close up to the Best Dog in the final challenge, coat being the deciding factor.
