The Northern Border Terrier Club Open Show (09-04-2022)

First Place in Puppy - Dog, Judge: Mr. Tim Ball (Kaitak)

Show Critique:

A thoroughly enjoyable day and my thanks go to the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge their well-run Open Show. I was delighted with the excellent entry and what a pleasure it was to spend a day with the Borders and their owners. There were some well-filled classes which gave me lots to think about and some decisions were extremely close. A lovely atmosphere prevailed and applause for the winners was consistent throughout.

Placing Critique:

This 9 mth lad was a comfortable winner in this class. He pleased for outline with clean neck of moderate length, correct topline, ribcage extending well back and easily spanned, strong loin and tail of good set and carriage. Skull of moderate breadth, dark expressive eyes, ears of correct set and good dentition, however I would like to see a slightly shorter muzzle. Pleasing angles front and rear, straight forelegs with clean shoulders, standing on excellent feet and nicely muscled. Pretty good coat texture and nice thick pelt. Moved well on the go around, straight when going away but needs to tighten in front.
