First Place in Post Graduate - Bitch, Judge: Mrs Sue Baxter (Mysulan/Sulan)
My thanks must go to the hard working committee for the kind invitation to judge
Border Terriers at this show. The welcome was warm and the hospitality on the day
was excellent.
There was a lovely entry and my gratitude goes to the exhibitors for their support ,also
the sporting manner in which my decisions were taken.
My general observations were as follows, bites mostly correct , males appeared intact ,
no tail kinks but what I did find was a few dogs quite broad chested and rather wide at
the front, rears were less of a problem .As breeders we must remember that
narrowness throughout is not only desired but needed if Borders are to be capable of
doing the job that they were bred for.
17 months , litter sister to winner of PG dog class. Many of my observations are true for this girl as they were to her brother . Well constructed , moves with poise and purpose . She was wearing a fantastic jacket which was of a super harsh texture. Nice length of body and rib to loin ratio was good. Head and expression were feminine but still lovely finish to muzzle and skull width .Also carries a wonderful set of workmanlike teeth .
