Whitehaven & District Canine Association Open Show (20-03-2022)

First Place in Junior - Dog, Judge: Mrs Sue Baxter (Mysulan/Sulan)

Show Critique:

My thanks must go to the hard working committee for the kind invitation to judge
Border Terriers at this show. The welcome was warm and the hospitality on the day
was excellent.
There was a lovely entry and my gratitude goes to the exhibitors for their support ,also
the sporting manner in which my decisions were taken.
My general observations were as follows, bites mostly correct , males appeared intact ,
no tail kinks but what I did find was a few dogs quite broad chested and rather wide at
the front, rears were less of a problem .As breeders we must remember that
narrowness throughout is not only desired but needed if Borders are to be capable of
doing the job that they were bred for.

Placing Critique:

14 mon th grizzle , good length of rib andproportional to the loin. Head and expression pleasing . Angles front and rear ok.. He 8was a little unsettled on the move but appeared to cover the ground in an acceptable manner . He will mature and has time on his side.
