First Place in Minor Puppy - Bitch, Judge: Mr Colin Girling (Benattivo)
Thank you to the committee of the Richmond show for granting my first appointment to award CC’s, I was well looked after on the day and had great support from my stewards which was very much appreciated. It was a real privilege to judge some wonderful examples of the breed and the future looks bright as there were so many wonderful puppies and juniors. I really appreciated all my entries and rewarded those in the best condition on the day, I also acknowledge that many had good breed type and quality even amongst those not in the challenge and some that were not placed in the stronger classes.
After awarding the dog CC it was a really nice to see so many great minor puppies in the ring and I really was short on awards as some left without a placing, despite them being excellent representatives of the breed.
This youngster ticks all the boxes and already has a head that fits the breed standard so well, being with black pigmentation short muzzle and neat ears close to the cheek. Her coat was harsh and deep, with a thick loose pelt too. Her narrow and fairly long body lines were finished off with a short carrot like tail, I was pleased to also see her move so well and with confidence and poise. She went on to be my best puppy bitch and challenged closely with an equally outstanding minor puppy dog.
