First Place in Junior - Bitch, Judge: Mrs Jill Stevens (Cobstoneway)
Thank you to the Committee for inviting me to judge at this level for the first time, and also to my very efficient ring steward who kept things running smoothly. I had a lovely day and felt it was a great honour and responsibility. I really appreciated each and every entry, and had some lovely exhibits to go over, the depth of quality in some classes meaning that some nice dogs went cardless. Coats were understandably at different stages, and although this has no bearing on the construction of the dog, a good coat does complete the picture of what is essentially a working terrier.
Beautiful grizzle and tan puppy of nearly a year old but very much still a youngster enjoying her day out. She is a lovely type, having a gorgeous otter like head with flat skull and very little stop. Her eyes are dark, her expression keen, and her bite good in a short, strong muzzle. She is narrow and straight in front, standing on neat feet, and her elegant neck flows into well laid back shoulders. She has a good topline and tailset, and a lovely underline, and moves so well. Beautifully turned out in a correct double coat of good quality, she still moved and showed with real enthusiasm at the end of the day when she was shortlisted from a big puppy group. BPB and BPIB.
