Minehead & DCS Open Show (10-11-2019)

Second Place in Special Yearling, Judge: Miss Judith Haydon

Show Critique:

My thanks to the Committee at Minehead & District Canine Society for kindly inviting me to Judge the Border Terrier Classes at their Open Show in November 2019. I thoroughly enjoyed my appointment, and although I had a relatively small entry, all the dogs were of an excellent quality and a pleasure to go over. My final decisions were only made on the smallest of margins, and I am grateful to the exhibitors for accepting my decisions in a true sporting manner. My thanks also to my organised and efficient stewards on the day.

Class Critique:

This was a very close Class with two very nice but very different types of dog. There was very little to separate the two which led to a difficult judging decision, but movement won it on the day.

Placing Critique:

A 16 month old blue dog with a slightly plain head but super reach of neck leading to a correct shoulder, level top line and good rear angulation. Lovely and narrow with a well laid back rib and a beautifully ticked blue coat. Unfortunately did not move with the drive of the winner today.
