First Place in Post Graduate, Judge: Mrs C E Sansom (Tarkaswell)
I would like to thank the Leek and District Show Society for inviting me to judge at their traditional agricultural show. Thanks also to my very efficient steward Sharon Bowers and to the exhibitors who gave me such a lovely entry and the honour of going over their dogs. Coats and pelts were generally good, but front movement was variable and I did find some exhibits with incorrect dentition.
This quality blue and tan bitch stood out for her balanced, effortless movement, showing purpose and drive whilst maintaining a level topline. She had a feminine head with a dark eye, varminty expression and correct bite. Her reach of neck flowed into a deep, narrow body of moderate length, with ribs carried well back. Her loin was strong and tail well set and carried gaily on the move. Correctly angulated in front and behind, she was able to cover the ground with ease. Excellent double coat, with a thick, loose pelt. She showed with presence and confidence. Pleased to award her BOB.
