Second Place in Puppy, Judge: Mrs Sue Baxter (Mysulan/Sulan)
My thanks go to the committee for their invitation to judge Borders and the hospitality received on the day , both were much appreciated. My steward Jean Walker helped keep things on track , thank you . I am grateful for the sporting way in which my decisions were accepted and thanks go to all the exhibitors who gave me entries and allowed me the pleasure of going over their dogs .
In general , one or 2 exhibits may have been carrying a little too much “condition” and benefit from perhaps a better work to calorie ratio. Feet were good and all dogs appeared to be intact .Bites all seemed correct at this stage and no sign of any kinked tails.
grizzle bitch at approx. 6 ½ months very much a baby . Different type to the first , smaller and slightly shorter coupled , although still adequate rib to loin ratio . Nice crisp jacket .Angles fore and aft correct. Lovely “carroty” tail well set on .Nice head and expression , with ears correctly positioned. A little unsettled on the move but to be expected at this age.
