First Place in Open, Judge: Mrs Jill Stevens (Cobstoneway)
I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge and for the warm welcome and hospitality on the day. Thank you also to my 2 efficient stewards, and most of all to the exhibitors for allowing me the privilege of going over their lovely dogs. All the dogs were entire, and I found no kinked tails or incorrect dentition.
Workmanlike grizzle and tan dog in super fit condition and ready for a day’s work. He is well proportioned, with good angulation all round, a good length of upper arm and well muscled hindquarters. His front is narrow and straight, he has plenty of bone, and his feet are well padded. He is narrow throughout with lovely, well placed shoulders, is ribbed well back, strong in the loin, and has an excellent topline and tailset which he holds well on the move. His masculine head has strong jaws housing big teeth in a perfect scissor bite, and his expression is varmity. His pelt is thick, loose and pliable, with a harsh topcoat and good undercoat. He moved effortlessly, accurately and economically round the ring, covering the ground well. Pleased to award him BOB and delighted to see him win TG1.
