The Birmingham & District Gundog & Terrier Club (20-10-2018)

First Place in Puppy, Judge: Mrs Jill Stevens (Cobstoneway)

Show Critique:

I would like to thank the committee for giving me the honour of judging at this lovely show, and for the hospitality shown on the day. Thank you also to my 2 very efficient stewards, Lesley and Judith, but most of all I would like to thank all the exhibitors who gave me such a lovely entry of quality dogs which were a pleasure to go over. I found no bad mouths, no kinked tails, and all the dogs were entire. Coats were at various stages, as to be expected, but none of the exhibits were without the correct double coat needed by a working terrier.

Placing Critique:

This 9 month old grizzle and tan bitch caught my eye as soon as she came into the ring and didn’t disappoint. She is good for size and well proportioned, having a pleasing feminine head with little stop, strong muzzle and jaw, correct scissor bite, and nicely placed ears. Her front is straight and narrow, her shoulders narrow and well placed, her ribs carried well back, and she is easy to span. She has a tight, harsh new coat with loose pelt, and good angulation all round, moving with ease and accuracy. BP
