Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at this lovely show. A warm welcome and great catering. Thank you to my steward Barry Merchant for keeping everything running smoothly. Thank you most to those who entered and to the exhibitors who kindly allowed me to go over their dogs and accepted my decisions. All entries had correct bites. From the dogs on show I was able to identify different types and endeavoured to apply my knowledge of the breed to finding the characteristics in the different types which I would be happy to have passed on to future generations, so the better the points of the breed, the higher the placing. A delight to see a dog approaching 12 years of age in such good fettle, strong, fit and happy. Broad, flat masculine skull, barely any stop, strong muzzle with excellent dentition. Shoulders well laid back, good forefront. Spannable, nice rib cage laid well back and covered with plenty thick pelt, harsh coat and very dense undercoat. Thick carrot tail. Moved well fore and af, with correct rail carriage.
