First Place in Open - Bitch
I would like to thank the officers and committee for the invitation to judge the Border terrier bitches, with my co judge, Bridget Singh. The hospitality received was much appreciated, and the day was one I really enjoyed. It was lovely to see such a good entry for the show as a whole, and that the borders had attracted the largest entry in the terrier group, my thanks to our two capable stewards, who kept things moving along nicely. Thanks also to the exhibitors who did me the honour and privilege of going over their bitches and accepting my decisions in a sporting manner. All exhibits were of good quality and fit for purpose and I was delighted with my entry. Bridget and I agreed on the bitches for BOB and BPIB.
What a lovely class to judge with some good quality bitches that could easily change places on another day
This lovely 3 year old grizzle & tan, who caught my eye on entering the ring and didn’t disappoint. A lovely strong, but feminine head, dark eye with good ear set. Has a strong muzzle with excellent dentition. She has a straight front, standing on neat well padded feet. Well laid shoulders, ribs carried well back, good length of body and a strong loin, finished off with a well set on short carroty tail. Muscular hindquarters which she used with drive on the move, keeping her top line. Good loose pelt with a nice tight coat. Easily Spanned and well muscled. My co-judge and I both agreed on her for BOB. I was delighted to see her go TG4 under group judge Colin Powell (Bowtman).
