First Place in Post Graduate - Dog
I would like to thank the officers and committee for the invitation to judge the Border terrier bitches, with my co judge, Bridget Singh. The hospitality received was much appreciated, and the day was one I really enjoyed. It was lovely to see such a good entry for the show as a whole, and that the borders had attracted the largest entry in the terrier group, my thanks to our two capable stewards, who kept things moving along nicely. Thanks also to the exhibitors who did me the honour and privilege of going over their bitches and accepting my decisions in a sporting manner. All exhibits were of good quality and fit for purpose and I was delighted with my entry. Bridget and I agreed on the bitches for BOB and BPIB.
Lots to like about this 21 month old boy, well balanced blue & tan with good ticking, lovely masculine otter head, dark eye with large teeth, scissor bite. Has a good front with well laid shoulders and ribs well back making him easy to span. Has correct double jacket with a loose pelt, good body length. Moved well, just unlucky to come up against the bitch, who I felt moved with more drive. A very close decision.
