The Terrier Club Of Scotland Open Show (16-10-2016)

First Place in Open - Dog, Judge: Mrs Tina Jones (Otterholme)

Show Critique:

My sincere thanks to the committee for the invite to judge at this well run and welcoming show and to my efficient steward who kept things flowing allowing me to focus on the task in hand. Lastly and most importantly the exhibitors, for your entry and sporting manner that my decisions were accepted.
I am always mindful when judging the breed, that it is essentially a working terrier so therefore I am looking for a terrier that is fit for function. Some I struggled to span, which had a bearing on my placings. Pleasing to find the majority had ample pelts, but on the flip side some lacked for me enough undercoat to afford protection, if they were in the working arena.

Placing Critique:

belies his eight plus years. He has a pleasing workmanlike appearance and another who would be well equipped for a days work. Appealed for size, nicely ribbed back so easy to span. He has a balance throughout and nothing in exaggeration, so presented an appealing picture . Moved out well and maintained a lovely level topline throughout and has enough angulation behind which he used to his advantage on the move. Correct in head shape, with a good strong jaw. Best Dog.
