Second Place in Open, Judge: Mr Darren Lockley (Chatmoss)

Show Critique:

My thanks to the Committee & Officers of the Club for inviting me to Judge this show but more so to the exhibitors who entered and attended, making the Border Terriers the largest entry in the Terrier Group. Having read the Breed Standard again prior to judging I was looking for exhibits which I would be happy to take out in the fields and woods for the day without worrying if they could handle it.

Class Critique:

Another two lovely exhibits.

Placing Critique:

3 yr old Grizzle bitch. Another lovely exhibit from this kennel. Easily spanned. Lovely shape to her head, reminding me of the lovely “old style” head seen in many paintings and illustrations. Moderately broad head with correct ears, dark eyes and good dentition. Feminine throughout but with great muscletone and attitude. Good ribs, loin and rear assembly which helped give her free striding movement. Coat was harsh and dense. Quality bitch, unlucky to meet 1.
